Good morning! It's quite a lovely day here. We had a fun weekend watching my son and his band Propaganjah at a VIP party on Saturday evening. Propaganjah is a local Reggae band that formed in 2017 here in Ocala. I'd heard of them when Steven and his band Skunkape would open for them in Gainesville. I never stayed to listen to them. Now my eldest son, Jeff, is bassist for them, so I am just now taking a good listen to them. They are pretty good. And all the guys in the band are fun loving, talented and just all around great guys. They are available on Spotify...give them a listen.

I've been making bridal garters for a wedding we are attending in OK in April. I usually make the bride two...one for a keepsake and one to toss at the reception. Here's my progress so far:
This is the fancy keepsake one...Wrapped in Lace by Kirsten Holloway. I love the fanciness of this design. It's relatively simple and will have flowers, ribbons and beads on it when totally finished. I hate that all garters call for elastic. I don't use that; instead, I use the ribbon to tie it onto the brides thigh. That way, the tightness is more controlled. I will post a pic when it is totally complete.
The other one is Something Blue by Emma Willey. It is simple yet elegant. Bridal Blue with white ribbon
Almost done. Wedding is April 9th and I want to mail them this week. I guess I'd better get going. But as most of you know, I'm the queen of procrastination, lol.
I am just now working on my February gnome from Repeat Crafter Me.....this is the hdc version.
I am trying to make two of each month...the original hdc version and the dc version. They are cute and fun to make....using up lots of my stash yarn for this project! Goal is to not buy anymore but use what I have....
On the quilting front, I've had a jelly roll that I bought from Joann's last year that I've been wanting to use in a pattern called Brick Wall. It's an old original Craftsy pattern that I've used for a few baby quilts. I wanted to make something for me with this fabric...it should be lap quilt size, as it's only 20 strips in the jelly roll.
The above are some of the units cut from the strips. Now it's just to sew them together.
This is what the final pattern looks like with the units sewed together. I will post my pic when I've gotten that far.
I've also been playing with my embroidery machine. I managed to get one towel out, for St. Patrick's day, after much frustration and broken needles (due to my thread winding around the thread spool and making it hard for the thread to unwind as it's supposed to, causing tight thread and broken needles...ugggghhh)))
But it was so worth it....I adore anything Snoopy......
I have also been commissioned to make this quilt for a friend at work:
She wants it in light colors for her first granddaughter due in May. I showed her the fabrics I have on hand and she was very happy with it. Amy told me to use my artistic talents and have fun. I can't wait to start it on my vacation. Then I can concentrate on only getting this one right!!!
And how do I know Spring is here? The thistles at the top of my driveway are blooming!
Every year when I see them it makes me smile to think of Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore's love of the tasty flowers. These photos were taken closer to night time, so there weren't any bumble bees in them. The bees usually are buzzing around them during the day.
And yes, it was a definite full moon this weekend.......
The sky was actually more pink than orange, but I couldn't capture it. This is looking west down my road from the top of my driveway. The picture does not do justice to the beauty .
